This painting brings together several subjects that have shaped and inspired my work: the Roebling Bridge, the Cincinnati skyline, the Ohio River, sunflowers, and the glow of evening light.

It was created for an alumni art event connected to my former art teacher, Tim Haders, whose Covington Catholic art classes helped ignite my creative path. Years later, that show reminded me how much I missed the texture, energy, and physical presence of paint on canvas.

A Few of My Favorite Things became a return to the brush.

The bridge rises with strength and history, the city sits in the distance, and the sunflowers bring warmth and life into the foreground. For me, this piece is about more than Cincinnati. It is about the people, places, and moments that stay with you.

It is one of those paintings that reminds me why I paint.
