Living in Kentucky, it's hard not to be inspired by horse racing. The power of the thoroughbred, the determination of the jockeys, and the thunder of hooves have always fascinated me.

With this painting, I wanted you to feel like you're in the middle of the action. The flying dirt, colorful silks, and charging horses capture the split second when every stride matters and every competitor is chasing the finish.

Horse racing is more than a sport in Kentucky. It's part of our culture, our history, and one of the many traditions that continue to inspire my work. Bringing that energy to life on canvas is what made creating this painting so much fun.
