I painted this piece during the early days of the pandemic, when the world had slowed down but creativity hadn't. Like so many people, I found myself dreaming about places I loved and places I wanted to experience again.

I've always been fascinated by bridges, and the Manhattan Bridge has long been one of my favorites. The view from Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood is instantly recognizable, framed by historic architecture and one of New York City's most iconic landmarks. After seeing this perspective in movies and photographs for years, I knew I had to bring it to life on canvas.

This painting also holds a special place in our home. My wife, Michelle, lived in New York, so it connects two things that mean a lot to us: her memories of the city and my passion for painting bridges. Today it hangs on the first floor of our home, reminding us both of the stories and places that shape our lives.
