Some of my favorite paintings are the ones I create for my boys.

When Jackson outgrew the Blaze and the Monster Machines painting I had created for his room, we spent weeks deciding what should come next. Since he was obsessed with robots, we agreed there was only one choice... Optimus Prime.

He was my favorite Transformer growing up, and it made me smile knowing he had become Jackson's favorite too. Painting a character we both loved made this piece especially meaningful.

The look on Jackson's face when it was hanging on his wall made every brushstroke worthwhile.

Today, our home is filled with original artwork, and it's time for this painting to begin a new story. It won't be easy to part with, but when I asked Jackson what he thought, he simply smiled and said,

"It's cool to sell it."

I hope it brings as much joy to its next home as it did to ours.
