The week Steve Jobs passed away in 2011, I felt compelled to pick up a brush. Like so many creatives, I'd spent my career designing on Apple products and had always admired his passion for innovation, simplicity, and great design.

I ended up painting two portraits that week.

This was the first.

It was my tribute to a visionary who forever changed the way creatives think, work, and create. The second painting, Ding in the Universe, took the tribute even further by incorporating actual keys from Apple keyboards into the artwork.

More than a portrait, this painting represents my appreciation for someone whose legacy continues to inspire me every time I sit down to paint, design, or create something new.
